History of cyborgs

Ever since of their development in the early 21st century, autonomous (A.I. controlled) humanoid robots are referred to as cyborgs. In the early years of their introduction, Humanity watched their progress with fear and suspicion, but they’ve proven reliable and safe during the decades and became trusted the same way as pressure based machinery at the early years of the industrial age.

Because of their limitations, non-humanoid cyborg developments soon were abandoned and were exchanged with A.I. control cores, responsible for the operations of all machinery and robots in an entire installation, which are strictly over watched by human operators.

Cyborgs were designed for industrial, security and military purpose, and are usually covered by a conventional or protective hull depending on their duties. They served Humanity as hazardous condition workforce, loading and factory workers, drivers and pilots, security personnel and fighters.

Those versions which also resembled human characteristics (such as skin, eyes, fingernails, and such) semi-realistically or completely, were special purpose cyborgs called: androids. They served as servants and assistants, and in some cases provided private entertainment services.

The greatest manufacturer of cyborgs, cyborg parts and androids was the international mega corporation: Triangle Cybernetics.
